All structures, properly understood, from the solar system to the atom, are tensegrity structures" (Fuller, 1975). Tension, tensional integrity, or floating compression is a structural principle based on the use of isolated components in compression within a continuous tension network, in such a way that the compressed members (usually bars or struts) do not touch each other, and the pre-stressed tensioned members (usually cables or tendons) delineate the system spatially.
Tensegrity was a work carried out by the architects of Bamboo Architecture Company in 2017 for Claudia Rodríguez in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
The advantages of this architecture are:
• Sustainable
• Ephemeral
• Easy and fast assembly
• Dynamic
• Aseismic
• Lightweight
• Optimal structural behavior.
